Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). Through him all things were made (John 1:3). He is the image of God's substace (Hebrews 1:3), and it was God's good pleasure to sum up all things in him (Ephesians 1:10). He stands unique and exalted over all, having purchased unto God an immensely valued treasure—the souls of men (Revelation 5:9-12).
The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). He is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23) and the source of all authority (Matthew 28:18). We express our love for Christ by keeping his commandments (John 14:15).
